Title: umm not so sure!!

we have today put our older newly hatched chucks 6-7wks old on grower pellets.
as said above they are not so sure about these!!!!!
tonight they had left quite alot in their feeder.
is this normal when changing feed?

Yes, if abruptly done - did you not phase it in gradually?

Hi langdon I mixed growers with crumbs for a few weeks to get them used to it. Always best to introduce new feeds gradually with anything. If you did that I'm surprised if not eating feed.

If you do that with dogs they get the runs.  Most animals need different feeds phased in gradually

Growers pellets are always quite large, in fact the ones we have are bigger than the layers pellets, which is odd. So may be a little large for their little beaks yet.I have tried mine with growers and they are not keen yet, they much prefer mixed corn with the hens!!
