I was hand weeding my tomatoes and beets this morning since the ground was so wet and made it really easy. My helpful husband mixed up weed killer and started spraying away. He kept saying that he was staying away from the plants, but I am worried. I pulled beets that are ready to can. I have washed them carefully after cutting off the tops. My question is simply this. Are they safe to process?

Hello ScottJudy. What kind of weedkiller was it? I never use the stuff myself but I would think that some kinds are ok near food crops and many are not. Whereabouts are you?
