We thought our broody had hatched off, 5 pure bred light Sussex, bought as hatching eggs, we had mingled some of our sultan eggs in, but we thought they hadn't hatched.
How surprised are we to notice 4 weeks down the line two have sprouted feathers on their feet and the start of tuffs on their heads. Up until Saturday, they all looked identical, Oh well, 3 pure bred light Sussex and 2 pure bred sultans.
How much you betting there all cockerels???

I bet 2 Light Sussex are hens and one's a cockerel and both Sultans are cockerels. If I'm wrong, I'll give £5 to charity!!

.... sponsor me??!!
hope you get some hens though, what will you do with the "boys?"

if the Sultans are cockerels they will have to go,we will sell them. As the Sussex were hatching eggs, we would keep a cockerel to breed with our non related hens.
