Title: When to introduce LifeLine buckets?
Post by: crobertson on January 22, 2017, 09:43:04 am
I picked up a lifeline bucket from our local countrywide yesterday  as everyone I know recommends them but when should I introduce it ? I have 6 ewes due in 9 weeks.

Mine have daytime access from scanning (no point in giving it to barreners that will go to cull).  Grass quality is poor here this year so I'll continue for the first two weeks of 100g a day per ewe hard feed but take the buckets out once I split them into singles and twins and start ramping up the feed.

Mine got their first one 6 weeks before the first was due to lamb. They are on a pretty sparse field now and won't have proper amounts of feed until they come in 2 weeks before they are due to lamb.

Since you say in a previous post that your ewes are fit then why rush  6wks would be fine ,
