Title: Goats for Sale
Post by: Roxy on June 17, 2010, 12:23:09 am
Due to various things - one being me out feeding all my livestock until after 11pm - I have decided to downsize my goat herd.  This is a very reluctant sale, and I am advertising on here first, in the hope that a nice person on here is looking for a goat (or two).

Castrated male Toggies - 4 of, plus one British Alpine castrated male.  Approximately 3 years old.  Ideal as lawnmowers, and very friendly.  Will follow you anywhere if you have a bucket.  Free to a good home. Prefer all to go together, as they have been a unit since kids.  Really quiet to handle!!  TWO NOW REHOMED, THREE STILL AVAILABLE!

British Alpine intact billy goat.  Paddy is a friendly goat, we have had two lovely nanny kids this year by him.  Unregistered, but well marked.
Age unknown.  Horned.  For sale to an experienced person only, who can handle a billy goat.              £80.00  SOLD

Milking nanny, sanaan x Anglo Nubian, white, small horns.  Nice goat, but a little nervous.  £200.00  SOLD

White female kids, all white.  14 weeks old.  Both horned.  Lovely girls who love a fuss.  Would like them to go together if possible.
£150.00 each.  Out of the above nanny and billy goat.

This is hard for me to sell my lovely goats, and I want the best homes possible please.

Located in North Derbyshire/Cheshire border.

Quick sale wanted.

Bumped up to say, still got three of the castrated male Toggies, free to good home.  Would consider two going as a pair, and one on its own, if you already keep goats.

Also, had quite a bit of interest in the two Alpine x Nubian nanny goats, but no firm buyer yet.

Female goat kids also still here.

Please, if you know of anyone within reasonable distance of Derbyshire who wants goats please let them know about mine.  I do urgently need to downsize my goat herd, and  if these three boys plus the two nannies went, that would help reduce my workload a little.  My health and sanity is suffering at the moment, and drastic action is needed before I end up really ill.  Thanks!!

Oh Roxy, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling that bad  :(  I really wish I could take some more goats but I know that a)shed not big enough and b) I am physically stretched to capacity also (exhausted!) however, I do know of a lady who has 12 acres nearby and plans to keep goats. I will have a chat with her daughter when I see her at school to see if yours could be an option for her
take care Roxy

Aww, so sorry to hear of your predicament and such a shame you're so far away.   Had someone asking me if I knew of a couple of Castrated Males as pets, but that's over here in South West Wales, so a tad too far.     Have you put them on the www.ukgoats.co.uk site ?     Lots of luck with finding new homes.

Thanks for your support both of you.  I have had a rotten week, and it has made me step back and take stock of my life a bit.  I  do not want to end up really ill, and have a heart attack or something. My brother who is 47 had a heart attack not long ago, and you never know do you.  My whole life is taken up with feeding, mucking out, etc. etc.  I cannot recall the last time I went in a pub - long before the smoking ban, so never go out at night.   And never see any tv either, not that I am bothered, but it would be nice to sit down with a drink and watch something.

Most nights its 11.30pm before I get in the house from the animals, and I am too tired to do much other than have a cup of tea, and browse here and my horsey forum.

That is the main reason I want to rehome the goats as soon as possible, but on the other hand, I do not want them going any old where.  I want the best I can for my lovely goats.
