Title: Goat books
Post by: Declan on June 15, 2010, 03:44:56 pm
Can anyone recommend a good (practicla) reference book for goats- and if it helps its for pure bred anglo- nubians and pygmys. What can you expect to pay for a registered pygmy goat.

I use the following regulalrly:

Peter Dunn "The goatkeeper's veterinary book", 4th ed.
Ulrich Jaudas "The new goat handbook"
David Mackenzie "Goat husbandry" (this one is a bit more theoretical, but very interesting, look for the 5th edition)

But have got quite a few more, mainly older secondhand ones from charity shops...

Have got J Matthews "Diseases of the goat" on my Xmas list...

I don't keep pygmies.

You should met John, Anke, he does know his stuff.

The Peter Dunn book is good, but I don't read that many goat books I have to say.
