And a happy one to you Adam.
Not such a big event down here though as we officially get 1 hour and 22 minutes more daylight than Staffordshire, where we moved from. In practice it depends on the surroundings of course.

Same to you! Enjoy the naked dancing round the bonfire :innocent:

Happy Winter Solstice to all.
Means more than Christmas in my life :-).

Yay - Happy Solstice. It seems much more relevant to us as growers than a religious festival, or the end of the year celebrated on the wrong date!
We usually have a celebration meal of 100% homegrown produce, bring in the Yule log and all that stuff, but we definitely don't prance around naked - the mind boggles :roflanim:
This year because we are having the celebration meal next week, we decided to buy a small fresh turkey for today. We put it in the fridge in the flat on Sunday, as no room in ours. Didn't check the temp though. I just started getting it ready to cook, but found it had frozen solid  :hohoho: . So, celebration meal postponed til tomorrow, and Mr F can go to his band practice tonight after all. We'll still do the Yule log bit though.

As it happens I have just lit one. More to get rid of the pile before it is too wet/ the wind blows it around. Sometimes I'm just too practical and should have more fun.
