Hi I bought an rcom suro from them it was broken when it arrived but they changed it straight away no fuss at all.
-
Its cost me a fortune. Bought the incubator for £200 plus £8 postage. Switched it on and found the temperature would not hold. Called them and they told me it me be faulty connection, so I took the thing in bits and checked all the connections and found two faulty spades. Sorted those and still didnt work. After many phone calls finnally got the engineer who ask to box it up and send it back (at my cost and hassle) to whic I refused and asked for a refund to which he refused! All this time I had turkey eggs waiting to be incubated. So I caved and orderred two suro's off them. Sent the duff incubator back (at my cost) and got a refund. The suro's a great machine, far superor to that peice of poo they put there name to. Fourteen quid lost, and turkey eggs a fortnight old >:( Not Happy. Due to hatch 28th. I'll keep you posted.

i must admit that the sales off brinsea products are perfict and spare parts just ask for tom and all problems sorted
-
I too have a pair of Suros and can't fault them! My dealings with P&T have all been positive but then I've never bought their own brand.
Good luck!

Even though i've yet to have my first hatch I'm finding this hatching very addictive. I've just bought some more turkey eggs and legbar eggs off ebay. Hope this works out!
-
Its best to keep them a maximum of a week before putting them in the incubator (although good results can still be had with older eggs). You're also best standing any posted eggs point down and at room temperature for 24-36 hours before transferring them to an incubator. This allows them to settle.
I fear you may have bought your ebay eggs too soon if you still have 28 days left to go with your turkey eggs. Maybe you could ask them to delay postage for 28 days?
I hope you've got some large brooders for when everything hatches. With 2 incubators on the go we found we needed 3 brooders and 2 heat lamps just to keep up with the demand for warmth. Young Turkeys are also notorious for feeling the cold so you may need a third heat lamp to keep them happy.
Good luck with it all and let me know if the ebay eggs turn out well as there are very few options for fertile eggs round here and I invariably have to order them from Ebay.
-
Thanks for this info, its worth bearing in mind. To be honest I've not thought about the brooding side, (dont count your chickens etc!!!) but yes your right if its even 70% succesfull I'll have a lot of birds on my hands. This is my first purchase of eggs from ebay so i'll keep you posted.

I have had some successes with eggs from ebay but it seems that every time that I get Maran eggs they never hatch, I put 12 in 2 weeks ago and not 1 is fertile so a bit fed up.
-
I seem to be dead lucky with eBay eggs. I had 10 out of 12 light Sussex first hatch and looks like I have 15 or more from 18 welsummer and blackrock crosses this hatch .
-
helen, what sellers have you used?
we've had some good & some not so... including 4/6 black copper marans
the ones in now are all "local" so hoping they'll do well
-
Well, turkey eggs arrived on friday with one chipped and saturday the legbars all perfect. Just set the turkeys of in the suro. So roll on twenty eight days and give you my verdict on e-bay eggs
-
I'll have to get back to you little blue not sure need to check my eBay history.
-
we had problem with r com pro incubator bought from a firm in Hull i think ??? returned replaced with new unit
reimbursed for all costs very pleased with service.
have also bought eggs from ebay with varying degrees of success. There are some unscrupulous sellers ,However the best service and hatches we have had have been from southyeo farm east ;D .there are definitely some to avoid and we never use those building up feedback on postage only :-\
