Title: Bit of a strange one this
Post by: CameronS on June 03, 2010, 03:18:57 pm
My parents silver wedding anniversary is coming up shortly, and they are adamant that the do not want any silver "Junk" gifted to them, so my sister and i, have decided that we cannot get nothing, are going to get a "usefull" and pretty gift, two "silver" chickens,

We are considering something along the lines of "Silver" laced wyandottes, and "Silver" Dorking,

but other than them i can't think of any, please can i get a list of breeds so i can research and try and source(either hatching eggs now) or younger birds near august.

Thank You  :chook:  :chook:

Ok not a breed of hen - but various of my siblings have been hitting their silver wedding anniversaries this last year and instead of silver metal we have made a point of giving silver birch saplings for the gardens - we bought the 15ft specimens and all have been thrilled with them.
Just another lateral thought on the silver theme  ;)

For something spectacular looking how about Silver Spangled Appenzellers?
I have hatching eggs available if you're interested!
