Title: ducks and bantams ?
Post by: greengumbo on October 07, 2016, 09:36:22 am
We keep our ducks and Chickens in the same big fenced off area and there have never been any issues. Recently we added a flock of 8 bantams to the area and yesterday one of the bantams was found drowned in the big tub that acts as a pond for the ducks. Very sad.

Anyone have any ideas to stop the bantams drowning themselves ? Or do you think we need to separate them again?

:(

Sounds like the bantam was spooked and flew into the water Greengumbo. My thoughts are to keep them separate because I know from experience ducks can be very aggressive to chickens.

My money is on the ducks having drowned the bantam. I'd separate them.

My ducks ear the tails of the bantams so separated them
