Title: Are my Turkeys gonna be ready for Christmas???
Post by: Gregoz on October 04, 2016, 08:30:26 pm
I have 6 BB Bronze Turkeys that hatched on 22nd July. I have them free ranging and feeding them on growers pellets as well as maize/ wheat etc
Are they on track for Christmas???
Don't want to let anyone down!

Thanks!

We used to buy the Wolstrad strain of kelly bronze day olds that arrived in July so time wise sounds ok. Mixed diet also good.  What I would be concerned about is the finished weights.  Stags are a lot bigger. Getting the birds to comply with oven ready (half the live weight) is fun.  Fingers crossed that they come out 14lbers.

Watch out for the fat layer wheat and maize will put on.  I'd leave it out until the last month of growth.
