21 chilli plants?!!! You'll be eating chilli all year with that many.  I grew about 6 varieties different strengths a few years back and I have just got to the end of them in my freezer and the dried ones I did.  Growing some "Pepperonicino" ones this year and one Jalapeno.  Should be enough I hope.

I'm a fan of both - the band and the edible ones  8) I always grow too many but chutney can use up loads.  I've only got a dozen plants this year but sometimes with more space you get more chillies anyway.  For a tasty snack, split a large pepper, add Philadelphia, a bit of ham then a chillie or two and close it back up - chilli surprise, as you don't know which mouthful will be cool and which will buuurn ! :o

I grow mine in pots in the greenhouse which is inside the polytunnel.  Last year I planted some out in the tunnel border but the chicks, which had to be in the tunnel because of too many predators outside, ate them all, red hot bits especially.
