OMG! I'm nervous about having an inspection and we haven't even got one yet!!! what animals do they check? is it the pigs and goats?
-
Who's coming langdon, is it the animal health office?
-
Hi Langdon
I had an inspection from Animal Health when I was registered for pigs. They took 3 samples of each of my feeds, poultry, pig and sheep for testing. Make sure you keep your pig food in a seperate container marked "PIGS" and that any containers and scoops you use for the pigs are not used for any other animal feed. Preferable that all pig stuff is kept away from the food, scoops and buckets that you use for your other animals. Remember you cannot feed your pigs anything that has been in a domestic kitchen incase they ask.
good luck im sure you will be fine :)

any animal(s) that come under livestock e.g. :pig: :goat: :cow: even if its one of each!
-
ya its them,
-
good in a way that they give you notice but not in that it makes you sweat in advance!
-
No need to sweat, they only come to make sure your doing things properly and to give advice, they arent really trying to catch you out! The chap we had didnt really have much idea about the animals, he wanted to see that they were tagged, and then at the paperwork, made some recommedations about record keeping and that was it! He didnt look in my feed room!!

all the best Langdon, hope it goes ok
