Hello everyone
We own an acre of land and want to have an allotment and some life stock, purely for pet purposes, no fattening of geese etc...
We have 2 rescued Rottweilers a rescued Pug and 3 rescued commited house cats.
We are now looking to home a couple of geese and maybe a couple of Pygmy goats, would love a pig (not teacup one) but not one that is too large.
I would appreciate any advice anyone can give on keeping Geese and goats, housing etc...

HI :wave: Glad to hear you want a pig, although it would be far kinder to keep two as they need the company of their own kind. If you want them as pets and not for eating kune kunes can be quite small, although I have seen some monsters as well. Personally we have a large black as a pet, who is truly a delight. (Although he is the only "pet" we do have about 40 more pigs on the holding so he is not alone).

I am in Tamworth in Staffs.
I won't be eating anything I keep, they will purely be as pets, hopefully rescued one's.
I am not brave enough to venture to the cattle markets to 'rescue' anything, I don't eat meat and I think I would find it very upsetting.
We are lucky enough to own an acre of land and for the last 5 years other than taming a shetland pony we have done nothing with it, so rather than moan about its maintenance we thought we would start to put it to good use.
We start the massive clearance of the land next week and then will start rotovating for the allotment, not sure how green my fingers are as gardening in general hasn't really appealed to me in the past.
I love my animals and think that as we have the land it is a perfect opportunity to add to them..
I will let you know how I get on with the allotment, can't say this is going to be one of my most favourite parts of the venture :-\
Again any advice will be most welcome.

we have goats and kunes, just into the second year of keeping them.
Set aside a few ( hundred?!) hours and read through the threads on here - often your most silly questions have already been asked and answered!!

Quite a long way south of me then, though I have family in Tamworth and more family in Birmingham which isn't too far away.

we have 3 goats, 11 chickens, 4 cats (plus 5 kittens) 3 rabbits (plus 5 babies!) amongst other pets and 4 kids of the human kind.
we grow our own veg and have a plum orchard (hence the name!)
agree with little blue, there's bound to be threads on here to answer most of your questions. I found that when we got the goats I had more questions than before we got them - the books didnt' prepare me at all, |TAS forum helped no end

Hi and welcome from me too, good luck with the veg growing I am rubbish at it. Hope you manage to find your pig I am sure that there will be quit a few around when all these silly people who have bought what they think are teacup pigs grow up and start to trash their gardens. :pig: :pig:

Don't get me started... I can rant for hours on so-called Tea cup pigs!!!
