Title: Hello from Gloucestershire
Post by: Woodysmum on May 27, 2010, 10:59:35 pm
I am returning to chicken keeping after a 20 year break.  We (my husband and I) have decided to give a new life to 4 ex.battery hens.  Any tips? :chook:

I have 6 - warm clean straw, good food, a friendly face -and freedom - that's all they ask.  I give mine porridge as a pick me up - porridge oats, boiling water poured over, add honey, cool down with milk - stir and serve.

welcome to the forum from dark Clackmannan

Whereabouts in Gloucestershire are you? I'm just across the border in Ross-on-Wye, although I was 'born & raised' in Glos!

I have chickens so you're welcome to pick my brains, or even visit!  :)

Can't go wrong with ex batts!!  I am involved with ex battery hen rescue, and have a field full myself.
