Title: Hi from Staffordshire

Hi All!

I'm currently living in an ex-mining village in Staffordshire with my wonderful husband and 2 dogs, cocker spaniel Chloe and cavalier Zack.  Oh, and the gerbils, Aggy, Mordy and Drawmij.  Our garden is too small for much (and tbh I'm not the most greenfingered woman in the world!), but I grow a little soft fruit and some salad things on the windowsill.  As soon as we've finished some things around the house I'm hoping for some ex-batts at the end of the garden.  My mom rescued 13 ex-batts a couple of years ago and they were in such a sorry state.  It was lovely to see them flourish, and they still layed very well.  Only two left now, they don't tend to last long unfortunately.

In a few years we're moving house and I'm holding out for a huge garden and properly rural location.

hi and welcome!!  I am involved with ex battery hen rescue, and have just lost some to old age - they had been with us 4 years plus!!  We do rescues about every 8 weeks, and have co ordinators in many places, so I am sure there will be one near you.

Hi and welcome from me too - I have ex batts too, seem to thrive Ok, and have had some before that lived about 3/4 years.  Always been good layers too, and very friendly.  My grandchildren come over and carry them a round like dolls.  They don't seem to mind.
