:) :) :) Three wee chicks have hatched out this morning in our incubator!! We are all very excited! We did have 12 eggs but after candling only 7 were looking as they should. My question is...how long to wait to allow the others time to hatch before removing the hatched chicks into their 'cosy box'? My incubator instructions say to remove the hatchlings when most eggs have hatched (12 to 48 hours)?!! I was just wondering because they don't look all that comfy in there with all those other eggs around them (although it is a spacious incubator and can actually take 24 hen eggs!!) but I know that the humidity level drops as soon as you take the top off?! Thank you! ???

Well done Lisa. As soon as you think they are dry and strong enough you can move them quite safely. Good luck. :)

Mine hatched between 3pm on a Monday and 11am on a Tuesday. I put the ones that had hatched on the Monday into their brooder on Tuesday morning, the ones that hatched on tuesday went in as soon as they were all fluffy - about 7pm Tuesday evening.
Congratulations!

congratulatoins!
we moved ours out as soon as they were dry... as they were rolling the eggs round & I didnt want the hatchers to get all dizzy & confused about which way was up!!
