:excited: must be the day for it... our hired ram is coming on Saturday too :excited: separated the breeding ewes from the fat lambs today in preparation, now all we have to do is wait for him to arrive :)

Can I ask what people do when bringing home a new ram. We intend on buying one at the ram sales tomorrow and already have a wether at home waiting (with the girls), I planned on putting them both in a separate field but a friend of ours advised to keep together in a pen in a outbuilding for a couple of days. Obviously to prevent the ram charging at the wether but does everyone do this ??

BH always puts the new tup straight in with some girls. Settles him down ;)

Definitely with 2 rams a wether should back down and be no threat , but you need to worm the new ram on arrival and keep inside for 24hrs plus give any other treatment ( crovect / hep p / fluke ) you consider necessary before turning out

Sounds fab, congrats! We just got our tup last monday, top 5% ,pure, pedigree Lleyn with excellent EBV's. Should throw some spectacular lambs :excited: All the best everyone with lambing 2017!
