My wife and I are looking to start a small holding in the Redruth area of Cornwall. We want to keep pigs and chickens for meat and eggs. Does anyone know of any land for sale, lease or rent in the Redruth area ?, we are looking for anything up to 3 acres.
Regards
Andy

Hi
We're in that neck of the woods - it's fab :D I would recommend keeping an eye on the Stags, and Lodge and Thomas websites as they seem to be pretty big in the land section around here,
All the best

Welcome and good luck with your search

, welcome, 4 years ago we were househunting in your area, found a house backing onto private forests and were going through the buying process but our sale fell through 2x so that was that, now we are up here in Clackmannan, central Scotland and love it!!!!

Welcome !
We're just outside Redruth. You could try putting a WANTED card in all the farm supply shops (Cornwall Farmers, Gwinear Farmers, Hoggs Head in Helston). There's a high level of fallow land around here that never seems to be used and it may just encourage someone to consider at least renting their land to you.
Good luck

Thank you Sue, weve tried putting letters through farmers doors, and on the customer notice board at Wilkinsons Redruth. Next we are going to try Lanner post office, but you've come up with some good ideas thanks. Weve already got an allotment at lanner with chickens but we want to go a stage further. What have you got ?.
Thanks

Hi Andy
We've got Shetland sheep including 13 lambs born in April and behaving like hooligans, a few chickens and ducks (less since the fox came during the snow!) and two flatcoated retrievers. Next week's project is to start using an incubator to hatch some eggs, there's always something new to learn!
If you want to visit do PM and come over - Tish you're welcome as well!

Hi Sue
Many thanks for the offer :) We are vaguely thinking of increasing the livestock here to include sheep next year so could very well take you up on your offer at some point in the future. If you want to come and see some pigs PM us :) - and that goes for you too Andy :)
