Title: Hatching eggs
Post by: Croftgary on May 19, 2010, 07:20:27 pm
Hi

My son is going to take my incubator into his P7 class for last term, unfortunately Mr Fox has visited and taken two dumpys and two black rocks, leaving me with two nervous hens and cockerel.

Looking for 20 or so eggs for his school project foir next Wednesday, I am in Fife .

Please help!

I can give you a dozen hen or duck eggs but they will not be pedigree, if that's the right word to use for poultry. My cockerel is a Light Sussex and I have various types of girl.

Sorry I only had half a dozen for you Gordon.  With Jamie having gone on Thursday morning those were the only ones I was reasonably sure of being fertile,.

I think what you are doing is a great idea Gary - the kids will just love it!!
Dizzyp - I would love some white frizzles to add to my wee flock! A friend also asked me to hatch him some bantams - will see what he fancies. I'd also love some buff pekins.. do you know where I might get some? The pekins are so funny to watch, the way they run about with their wee bloomers flapping! ;D ;D  My husband calls them "The ones that wear the Ugg boots" :D

Total of 11 chicks, the whole school has been visiting them and they all have names!

They are going to stay in the school till at least next week, teacher taking them home weekend to look after them.

Thanks again
