If I go to a farm advertising milk for sale would I have to take my own container?
-
Probably not but phone and ask. In Swallows and Amazons they had a metal tin with a cap didn't they? I think nowadays they would need to sell in sterile containers, so would have to pack it themselves.
-
Could be either or both. Some now have dispensing machines, you put your own container under a tap! Some bottle or carton their own.
-
Thanks both.
I don't know the name or phone no of this farm but will probably have to pass it some time next week. I will call in and find out first.

You could if you like take a small sterilised churn which they could put milk into for you, we used to do this many year ago.....

If I has a small churn I would do that but sadly I don't :-(

Any sterile container will do. An empty milk bottle or plastic container, well washed and soaked in Milton or wine bottle sterilizer for an hour, then rinsed would be fine.

Jeez that would get the neighbours talking! cracking open a nice Merlot to put on your cornflakes!

I have been saving milk containers and have some Milton so that seems like a plan.
Laid up in bed with labyrinthitus at the moment though so it will have to wait for a bit.
