One hen pulled out of the flock over 1.5 weeks ago. Is eating and drinking but face looks horrific. Been on Tylan 200 injected and I added it to the water for a few days hoping it was recovering however the swelling is increasing and looking no better at all.
Whats the option on this? I dont want to buy more meds its not worth it is there alternative options as she is drinking and eating.
Will she recover?
Thanks

Sounds like an allergic reaction to something Famers Wife. Has she been stung or bitten? If she's eating and drinking I'd be tempted just to leave her alone and keep a watch on her. We did have a chicken with a swollen face once and used E45 cream just once. The swelling went down after a week.

Have you isolated her from the others?
-
yes Ive isolated. I think its Coryza as sinus area very swollen. I started with Tylan but no help. Not buying more so went for 'mycin AB which was in the cabinet. Mixed with water and giving at intervals. Injected yest and some swelling has gone down. Covering sinus area with the AB mixed with water to help clean out the cavity too. Giving it a chance but cant justify spending more when our farm cabinet is full. Will report back.
