I went out to feed the chickens and ducks this evening and there is a guineafowl in the run. I have no idea how it got here or where its from but is it likely to hang about and how can we encourage it to make its home here ?
We did wonder if it got blown about and lost after the high winds last night. None of our neighbours keep guineafowl.
Great surprise !

and like that......it was gone. The wanderer of Aberdeenshire. Roaming from farm to farm in search of a good home.

They do have quite a strong homing instinct, particularly if regularly fed!

Its returned three times now and then wanders off to visit a neighbouring farm :)

Is it male or female? If female she may choose to stay and lay with you. Guinea eggs are rich and delicious!.
