As the tile says. Lots of good ideas in this Good Life Press book, although I've found the best way to dismantle them is to hammer a big screwdriver between the spacers and planks to give enough of a gap to use a metal saw to cut through the nails. As before, first to PM me gets the opportunity to turn that pile of old pallets into something more decorative and/or practical.

Its a good little book - hope someone takes it soon!

My friend's son is doing this as his summer business - he is a tree surgeon and has a log business in autumn and winter. His creations are amazing, he has some super ideas, and actually the seats are very comfortable.
My own son has built a fence for me, and topped it with trellis from B 7 M, but I can't find any planters to fit between the main base and the supports so I can have flowers etc along it's length and climbing the trellis.
I think it's wonderful to recycle pallets!

Now on it's way to a new home - still going through my bookshelf so watch this pace!

So far pallets have provided sheep shelters, goat pens, hay feeders, benches, a firewod box and gates, not to mention firewood and kindling????

It seems not a lot of smallholders know this, but pallets are also excellent for transporting heavy things . I don't know if that's mentioned in the book at all? :roflanim:

Maybe we should have a separate thread on what and how we use pallets?
I love em, OH hates them, (no imagination)

I love pallets too - I love the way I can have the luxury of a three huge bin compost heap made entirely of pallets and it doesnt look out of place at all at the allotment.
I have found them very handy recently for replacing shed roofs with very little work. I just separate the top bit from the lower bit and fix them together side by side. Obviously there are gaps that the felt would sag through when warm so I put a layer of thick black plastic on first.
Tonight I was Just finishing off another pallet shed before I start making tool stores for a few people.
