Just thought I would ask anyone if they're going?

Yes, I think we're intending to go. Scope out some possible white faced woodland sheep.

We have bought sheep from Melton, but they have a sad habit of dying when they get to the harsher climate of Scotland.  So it's a good way of bringing non-local genetics into your flock, but it could be that those genetics are not the ones you really want and you would be better buying local, for their hardiness.

Not going but I grew up in Melton and went to the cattle markets there all the time.
Make sure you grab a pork pie while there. and brocklseby pies in Asfordby village are amazing  :excited:

Oh sadly we're bit going any more. First fields won't be fenced by then sadly... Week after by the looks of it.

We'll have to save ourselves for the holmfirth sale on the 25th to get our woodlands!

If anyone spots any tidy white faced woodland ewes at Melton, would you be able to get in touch?

Thanks

Adam

 Were going on a jolly which is a first, were usually showing pigs but a combination of changing breeds and deciding to go as spectators we declined the qualifiers for LOY. Having said that I have been asked to take my white coat looks like I will be showing a lovely welsh boar or two on the friday and sheep shopping on the saturday.

That's great! Thanks for posting.

Not too many on the WFW side, so I'm not so worried about not being able to go now. :)
