Title: Just a quick Hello
Post by: segie on May 15, 2010, 06:19:20 pm
Hi a newbie here living in Somerset, we have been growing our own veg over the last few years and now making our own bread, ok in a bread maker! But we still know what’s in it!

We have just brought a sausage maker and mincer and are making our own burgers so it looks like we are in for a fun summer so I will be looking on the recipes page for lots of inspiration and ideas to do in the kitchen.

Thanks for the welcome ....getting the hang of the bread maker now.... make it before going to work.. lovely warm bread when I pick up our son from school in the afternoon and if I am really lucky a fresh egg or three from the hens at work! What could be better ...at least you really know where your food comes from... and I like this idea lots ....

Hi and welcome  :)

I love my breadmaker! definately one gadget I couldtn' go without, even the children like the bread it makes.

would be interested in hearing how easy you find the sausage maker as that's something else I'd be tempted to buy  :)

We have chickens at work so get some eggs when the girls are laying well! We have some Zwartbles Sheep at work whom are lovely sheep and 14 lambs this year they are all pets but we are not silly! And they are out with the horse which I am much more at home with since I have been with horses for over 30 years !

When you make your sausages buy the best quality free range pork you can find.  No point in going to all that trouble to know what is in your food if you buy supermarket full of rubbish pork.  Sorry getting off soap box now.  Enjoy your sausages.
