Has anyone ever heard of a dual purpose bantam chicken?
I was curious when I over heard someone talking about them. I imagine you could get a nice little dinner out of one

Indian game bantams are worth a meal and apparently they lay better than there LF equivalent
So I would class them as DP.

I breed salmon faverolles bantams, the large fowl are considered a dual purpose bird. I am growing on my surplus cockerels for meat this year for the first time, I am hoping they'll be about 3 lb when mature, be interesting to see what that equates to when oven ready

There is one or 2 you could use Sussex marran ixworth run them for 12 months feed corn etc and well worth the effort .ginifowl is OK as well.

Most large fowl dual purpose breeds have bantam counterparts that are just as good but on a smaller scale.
The best dual purpose banties in my opinion are amrock, sussex or australorp, marans, plymouth rock, and orpington. All of these come in numerous colours although the the australorps and amrocks are harder to get hold of as bantams.
Hope this helps :farmer: :fc: :)
