chicks are starting to pip( i think thats the right term)
two out of eight so far.
our other four who are out in the potting shed now in a hutch are far from what they looked liked
when they hatched!!!
in this batch we got three different breeds of chucks.
Lohman Brown, Cuckoo Marann, light sussex.

I bet somebody won't be getting any sleep tonight!
I stayed up until 1am early tuesday morning, then got up again at 5am! It's addictive!

the first time our eggs hatched me and my wife were watching with me holding a pint of cider and beth
with a glass of wine then it was two,three ........
we had to celebrate
the cider is now all gone!
ive planted trees of my own in the garden to make cider myself.

Well you know how excited I was with mine over Easter! Mine are in the shed off heat lamp now all seem fine so planning on moving to the Hen house this weekend. Mind cause no one handled them for weeks whilst we were away they are dead wary of me. Panic when I open brooder box one even pecked me really badly. Trying to build their confidence but the wicked one looks like a cockerel, he'll be first for the pot if he stays that way!
