Title: Badly scratched back
Post by: Bluff on June 23, 2016, 08:27:13 pm
Just heard one of the pigs squealing and she is running about as if away from something. When we looked when has these scratches on her back. When she runs her back legs seem to be bent as if crouching
I have managed to get aloe vera on to act as  a barrier and given her willow as I think it's a natural pain killer
Any thoughts as to what else I can do
Vet job?
File too big apparently
So it's 5 horizontal deep scratches left to right across her back

Has she got caught under some barbed wire, perhaps?  Have you been able to clean the wounds thoroughly?  I would use a disinfectant like\Dettol or Savlon, let it dry then spray with a/b spray.  If the scratches are very deep she may need a/bs.

We think she had a bad itch and scratched herself on the fence as the scratches are so evenly spaced
We managed to get sudacrem on it and she has settled down now.
Poor girl
I feel so bad for her
Thank you for replying
It's been a bad animal week and this is practically the last straw

Thank you so much!
She seems ok today. Sudacreme still in place so she is calm.
Legs seem better too. I suspect she twisted it when she took off from the biting flies.
Will be fine I am sure just one of those weeks *shrugs*
