Hi
OH has made some rather nice sloe gin, :yum: what can you do with the berries left from the process? trifle?
-
Try eating one before you decide, I find them unpleasant!

Add them to a Rhum Topf jar that's being prepared for Christmas ,then they will be OK to eat and are OK on ice cream on Boxing day or for a few months after ( if they last that long :yum: :yum: ).
 Book your appointment with the diabetic clinic as the liquid in the jar will usually be very high in sugar and around 14 to 18 %ABV. , so will the sloes . :roflanim:

Oh! I forgot, I don't make it these days but we used to put the used sloes into a bottle of sherry, shake as per sloe gin, leave for a couple of months (or until you remember it!), strain and bottle. I tried the sloes after doing this and didn't like them at all!.

Add them to a bottle of cheap brandy plus sugar and process in the same way as gin????

Thanks folks :)
