Title: Rogart - Discussion meeting this evening!
Post by: Madeleine McC on June 02, 2016, 12:37:08 pm
Hi folks,

Second of our two smallholder/crofter discussion groups is taking place this evening in Rogart - if you're interested to have a cuppa and a chat about health and welfare, a bit about biosecurity and to hear one of Caroline's fab information-packed talks then come along for 6.30 p.m. to Rogart Hall.

Hope to see you there!

Hello!
I'll be there too, doing a talk on health issues.
Depending on who is there, I can tailor that to health issues you are interested in! So if we get a lot of sheep people, pig people, chicken people etc....I can change what I am going to talk about for you. Worms, fluke, lamb diseases, chicken diseases, pig diseases, goat medicine, sheep foot health, I am very flexible and I have a lot of powerpoint presentations to pick from. I will also take "requests" for the free webinar series we are going to be launching this summer. Tell me what you want to learn about in a really easy-to-join, free, do-it-at-home format and I will try to provide your request in our webinar series.
Please come along and join us. Madeleine, Katie, Carla and their department have been doing a lot of great work to increase awareness of smallholder medicine and biosecurity to stakeholders "further up the tree" so come along, and help to define the current situation and the future needs of smallholders in Scotland!
Ta folks, hope that you are all enjoying the fabulous weather,
Caroline

It's too far south fro most Scottish smallholders.  Why isn't it being held more centrally?  Even Lanark Auction mart would have been better.

Hi there,

Sorry we're not in a more convenient location - unfortunately we're having to cover as wide an area as we can in a very few meetings. We've been in Nairn, Gloagburn, Moffat and we were at the smallholders festival in Lanark in September so having to go somewhere else this time!

We'll do our best to make info available on any key points that are raised if you can't make it in person. We'd love to know if this sort of discussion meeting is something people find useful and might want more of, particularly if there are particular topics that we could cover, as Caroline says.

Cheers,
Madeleine
