was at an auction today and w got what is new to us, a livestock trailer!!!!!!!!!!
and one of our boys(bsb pigs) is now ready for the slaughter MMmmmmm
one step closer now to tasting our own pork.
and not forgeting our two girls ( milly and molly - goats) to meet the billy of their dreams in the autumn.
i guess its a case of boys and their toys!!!!!

There are quite a few people after livestock trailers on here - including me  lol!!  They are like hens teeth here (none to be found.!)
We have a big horse trailer, which is not really practical for goats, pigs etc.

I looked for ages for a second-hand trailer and couldn't get one for love 'nor money(and God knows I tried both!) Finally I had to buy one new, £900!! but it will still be worth nearly that when I have to hang up my pitchfork,or so I'm told. It's 6ft.x4ft. so plenty big enough for our needs and light enough for me to move by myself. Anyone near us in Newton Abbot, Devon in need of a borrow, give me a shout.

Roxy  We have just purchased an Ifor Williams 10ft x 6ft  livestock trailer that is suitable for pigs, cattle and sheep, found it on Ebay, lots of trailers on there the only drawback was we had to collect it from Devon but it gave the mensab and youngest a nice day out, you should check it out

We took out the trailer we bought just before Christmas for the first time at the weekend. It towed really well (after we had to blow up two of the tires!)

On a Tuesday at our cattle market is a dealer for stock trailers.

We bought a good one from him that had just been traded in, complete with sheep decks.

Melton Mowbray Cattle Market.

all livestock trailers must have steel plated floors inside, road legal.

Maybe in Belguim. Well actually not in Belguim because it's an EU transportation regulation DEFRA follow :

all livestock trailers in the uk must be chequered flooring and it is an legal requirement.
diseases that may be in the trailer can be washed out after use, disinfected and steam clean out.

trailers with only wooden flooring can harber diseases,
if you take animals to markets and trading standards stewards see the trailer with only wooden flooring, if your animals don't make the money you can't take your animals home, because you are likely to spread unknown diseases back to your property.
