Title: Sheep (well grass toppers) and chickens
Post by: TrickyNicky on May 16, 2016, 07:47:01 pm
HI all, so the sheep came free with the house when we moved to Lincolnshire 8 years ago, lambing was an unexpected and very sharp learning curve as they previous owners let the ram run with the girls all the time, Lambing that year started in Jan and finished in May, with only 14 ewes it was a total pain in the bum as you never really knew when to expect the next lamb. The sheep maintain and fertilize the grass now as they're too old to bred anymore, but they're lovely old girls.   We've had chickens for about 15 years, much more predictable!  I have a couple of ponies too.  We harvest our own hay which is always an excuse for a knees up  once its all in.   There's never a dull moment here.  One day I might even get my veggie patch up and running properly too.
