Title: Goaty cough.
Post by: Steph Hen on May 04, 2016, 01:00:30 pm
Dash is a bt weather, born last year (from Talana).
He has a dry cough. No discharge, sore bits or otherwise.
He is also very happy, plenty of running, eating, drinking, Pooing, etc.
Two vets saw him couple of weeks ago (friends of the family, up visiting) and said it was nothing, maybe the equivilant of a touch of asthma, or very mild cold, but unless other symptoms develop wouldn't worry about it at all.

Sometimes nothing for an hour or two, other times it's more frequent. Exertion brings it on a wee bit more, but doesn't stop him belting about like a maniac.

I asked another vet on the weekend, and she said to worm him again as sounded a bit like lung worm. They are due again as last done in March (need to look at record for exactly when) so will do this, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar?

Could be just a cold, goats do get them especially with this changeable weather and running about a lot can occasionally make them cough. I would worm count in case lungworm or anything else also I didn't do him for pasturella he only had lambivac( last booster Sept I think) as he was away before the rest were done. He was done for fluke/ worms at New year so would be due for a check, I dosed mine again a couple of weeks ago.
