Title: Hello! :)
Post by: silkwoodzwartbles on April 25, 2016, 04:24:12 pm
 Hello, I'm Chloe and keep a small flock of pedigree Zwartbles in the Forest of Dean. I'm relatively new to sheep and small-holding so I'm sure I'll be asking some daft questions pretty soon :) Looking forward to getting to "know" you all  :sheep:

Hi from a snowy North Yorkshire, Chloe! I'm fairly sure that you have to post a picture of your sheep for us to Awww at. If it's not in the rules, it should be  ;)

Thanks for the welcome, and photos I can do! :)

One photo is of my 5 shearling ewes, Connie, Cocoa, Cassie, Cerys and Cookie, and the other is of my 4 year old ewe Wagtail with her twin ram lambs

Hehe Zwartbles are the best sheep - even my OH is being converted, particularly after we tried to catch the 18 shearlings on the weekend to drench them, and my 5 were the only ones that came to the bucket and waited nicely in the pen. It took over an hour and the neighbour's dog (ours is in disgrace!) to get the others (his!) into the pen...he was not amused :innocent:

I'd love to learn to spin, I can knit (badly) but spinning is a whole other skill

We've just started this year with 7 pesky Balwens. A lot to learn......but worth it
