I have a Brinsea Octagon incubator with a dozen eggs in. I noticed at about 6 days into the hatch that the cradle was not turning and found it was switched off :-\ Not sure how that happened or how long it had been off but worse case scenario would be that it had been off since the start of the hatch. I kept checking the thermometer but didn't notice the position of the cradle. I have just candled and all bar one of the eggs had veins growing and some had a black dot but this is my first time candling and I really can't tell whether the development is normal or not. Is it worth continuing or should I just start over again?

Keep going, it's only been 6 days.
When you candle them, does the black dot move when you turn the egg? You can always compare it with pictures of developing eggs online, but I would expect they'll be fine.

I would also just keep going and get turning!

I be theyll mostly be ok, keep going and don't worry about it too much.
Veins growing at day 6 sounds good. If they die you end up with cloudy black mass. Veins are good.
I like to write on mine what I think is going on when I candle them, means that I can compare the date when I thought they were empty/dead with later result and gain confidence.
