Title: Hello from Suffolk
Post by: Badger on May 02, 2010, 09:58:00 am
Hello everybody, we are a 50 something couple shortly moving from urban Essex to rural Suffolk. We have brought a small cottage with just a half acre, and we can't wait to move in. We would like to have a go at growing some veg, with maybe a small polytunnel. We would also like to have a few chickens. There is a small orchard, so we would also like to try and make some cider maybe!. I am sure other ideas will come up once we are living there. We are hoping the forum will be very useful for helping gain knowledge of the rural life.

Hello and welcome from Fife, good luck with the move and remember a "few chickens" is never enough they become addictive.

Hello and welcome from me in South Lanarkshire
I think you'll find chickens very rewarding - I've only had mine a wee while but really enjoy them, I didn't think they'd be so full of character  ;D
But be warned - the longer you spend on the forum the more land you're going to need/want cos the ideas are endless !  ;)
Look forward to hearing more from you
