Hi, we have recently begun lambing and have had several orphan lambs for various reasons. Most of which have been fine. However three of these lambs have been scouring extremely badly and have a small amount of blood in their stool. We have never encountered this before, does anyone have any suggestions?

If they are scouring badly then it needs a glucose rehydration drink instead of milk. We did alternate milk/rehydration feeds for a couple of days and our lamb was fine. But if there's blood in it too I would give the vet a ring, could be an infection that needs antibiotics?

Vet asap.

The lambs were around 2-3 days old maximum.
