Title: Herdwick lover
Post by: epherdwicks on April 01, 2016, 03:06:46 pm
Hi

I am and farmer's wife and the owner of a small flock of Herdwicks in Suffolk.  I am currently lambing for my third season and have seven ewes in lamb and one who has just had twins.  Still new to the game so winging my way through...!

Welcome - from Cumbria, the home of the Herdwick!    (Not that I have Herdwicks, I have all sorts but not Herdies.  I'd love some Norfolk Horns, though - I spin :spin: and really love Norfolk Horn fleece.)

Hi Evelyn and welcome to the forum from an overcast mid-wales   I keep pedigree Lleyns and a small herd of milking meditereanean water buffalo, trying to make mozzarella atm. I hope all goes well with lambing, things are slightly daunting the first time your sheep lamb, but they generally get on with it and if there is a problem ( which isn't that often) then I am sure that you will be able to handle it just fine. Remember if you need any advice/help we're all here and we hope that before too long it will be you giving advice. All the best
