Post by: jimmy the pig on March 21, 2016, 06:35:19 pm
Hi

i am new to forum so excuse any silly mistakes  :)

we have a large 8 year old boar who has recently started loosing alot of weight and to me looks like he is urinating more than normal. ..i say this as his house is really wet which wasnt until last month or so.

we have wormed but other than that im not sure what to be trying...obviously there is the vet but was hoping to try myself first.

Thank you in advance ????

Kidney problems? Sometimes the vet is the cheapest option, they can pick up on something before it worsens!

Possibly most likely a kidney or urinary infection. Is he passing blood at all in his pee? Is he in pain when he pees/poos? I would get the vet out pronto as it could be a life and death matter.

I think vet,but be preapred for the boar having to be put down.  At eight years of age treatment may not be advisable.

I'd agree with everyone else, get the vet in.
