Title: Gold / Silver lacing
Post by: Stereo on March 18, 2016, 11:16:59 am
I was reading about Wyandottes the other day and the writer said that you can cross gold and silver laced to get sex linked chicks. I can't remember which way around it was but I think Gold male over silver hen gives gold pullets and silver boys. Maybe the other way around.

Is this the same for other breeds eg. Orpingtons?

GL male gives GL females and SL males split for gold.

SL male gives SL females and SL males split for gold.

"Split" means they carry genes for both colours, whereas the females will breed true.
