Title: imported ewe, more bloods?
Post by: beagh-suffolks on March 04, 2016, 01:33:34 pm
i imported a ewe from Scotland there in January, had all the paperwork and all the bloods in order, the ewe came from a MV accredited flock (but she had to be tested again to make sure she was clear) and had her scrapie bloods done an came back ARR/ARR. so all was fine and did the whole isolation...she has now been here 2 months and i had a call this morning demanding more bloods??? and they had to be done today to? anyone any idea why?

Could there have been a problem in the flock you bought her from?

I would ask them why.

Two months is 60 days, so it sounds like it might be a 60 day post movement test.  I've no experience with MV accredited sheep, though.   I'd be interested to know what you find out.

The flock hasn't had a problem (im good friends with the breeder). They didnt give a reason why they had to test her other than it was deadly important it had to be done this week?! they didn't say to isolate her or anything but just to separate her the day for the bloods.
