Title: When can my ducks go on my big pond?
Post by: Buckguyz on March 01, 2016, 05:28:24 pm
I have hatched 2 Khaki Campbell ducks which are now 7 weeks old, i have them in a cage/pen outside at the moment, I have a number of other ducks who live free range on our pond, at what age do you think it will be ok to let them join the other ducks on the pond ?

This time of year I wouldn't let them on until they are fully feathered and waterproof I.e don't have any down type feathers as these aren't waterproof.

Try them in a paddling pool first, they need the water to preen and oil themselves up before going in a  big pond.
