Well having viewed our new house back in June last year, the sale finally completed a fortnight ago and we moved in on the 18th Feb.
Wow, what a move from sunny flat Suffolk up the A1 and across the A66 to a beautiful farm at Appleby in Westmorland :excited: . The only hiccups being one of our cars broke down on the way up and finished the journey curtesy of the AA and BT have failed to fulfil the order of phone and internet :-[ .
We are now starting to feel at home on our just over 50 acres  , 30 of grass and 20 of woodland (silver birch and Scots pines) Hope to start adding some more animals as soon as the CPH no. etc is sorted.
Does anyone live near us? :fc: we would love to hear from anyone local. Later in the year we will be looking for some Gotland Ewes, Red Poll cattle and a couple of weaners.
This is all very exciting and to top it all the views from the property are just fantastic. Sooo in love with the place already  .
Hope to get along to Spinning guild soon Sally in North :knit:

Welcome to Cumbria. We are South Lakes.

Hurrah!
I've a friend near Appleby, so I'm out that way now and again. Actually, there's another sheepie person near there, too; she's a Wool Clip person, and half of Sheepfold.
Next Guild is Sat March 19th. The workshop is needle-felting. I shall just spin and chat - if I manage to get there, that is; we'll be lambing, so I can't always make it in March or April.
That weekend, or at least Friday/Saturday, is also Edinburgh Yarn Festival, so a lot of folks will be up there.
Shout up if you need any local info! And hopefully we'll cross paths sooner or later.
