Title: Who did this?
Post by: Jukes Mum on January 25, 2016, 10:40:34 am
Last week I found a pile of pheasant feathers in my field.
About 100 yards away (and only 5 yards from my garden wall) I found the pheasant buried in an old mole hill with only its feet and tail feathers sticking out.
Nothing has been back for it.

We do have foxes round here, but would they do this?

Yeah JM,

I would say a hasty fox. I found a cock shoved in a shallow hole dug by a rabit last year. Not one of my cocks fortunately. It was there a good few days but the fox ( i assume ) took it eventually. If the fox is finding fresh food it will leave it in the mole hill until it needs it.

....mind you....on the other hand....perhaps its a ferocious mole  :eyelashes:
