Title: a runaway success
Post by: WinslowPorker on April 21, 2010, 03:43:45 pm
Well having only had our pigs for 7/8 weeks now, the plan was to sell 5 and have 1 each for the freezer at nil cost. did not neet to make any profits, just to break even (Yes a fortunate position to be in) however, we have now sold 6 of them with a further 3 pre-ordered from the next herd which are due for Oct/Nov slaughter.
I appreaciate that most of these are people we know, but the general concensus is that the thought of having a 'free range' pig is very appealing and at a box price cheaper than the supermaket slops it seems to have took off a lilttle, and by selling the 6th one we can by our next herd of weaners.

Nice just to share my great experience, may be a little bit of beginners luck and we still have 2 months until slaughter!  :pig:
