Title: Old tv series - LOST

Hi
Does anyone remember a tv series (channel 5 i think) where a plane came down on a remote tropical island? There were frequent flashbacks to the characters leading up to the flight.
On the island strange things happened, like seeing a polar bear, seemed to be a  'Monster' or 'being' about, then they ran into some others who were not friendly. They found some underground bunkers.
I think about that point the series was moved to 'SKY', so i  never found out the secrets of the island, often wondered.
Anyone up to what happened then and why there were strange things happening?
Not detail of course but what was the island about?

Remember it well my son had DVD,s  and I spent hrs watching them back to back .

.. But only as far as the bunker an something about a clock?  So sorry can't answer request but am interested to see if anyone can

It got more and more surreal, and having watched to the very end I'm afraid I'm none the wiser! Gripping series with some interesting conspiracy/supernatural stuff but never really answered all the questions

watched the 1st series as it seemed promising but then it all went bonkers and I gave up  ???
