Thanks for the reminder ... my OH saw the large family episode  and suggested I would love it.

I've been watching them all, I think because they are British based this time, although not really very wild.  There is a bit in the episode your link is to, where Ben shares the sofa with the great Dane for the night, and reports in the morning that she has suffered from 'doggy wind'.  Having kept a number of Irish Wolfhounds I know just what he means - he was very restrained in his comment  :roflanim:

I do find it unusual and fascinating to see those who use nothing modern at all - although in fact they all do to a small extent.  If they didn't then the researchers would not have found them.  Even the lady on her own had a phone although it was separate (as do the Amish) but it also emerged she has neighbours, who come to her 'ohmy' type get togethers.  That bit's not my scene.

Here, we are a funny mix of doing some things the old way, such as how we grow our fruit and veg, and raise our animals, spin and so on,   but we love modern technology and like to make the most of that too (including a nice cosy car  ;D).  Sometimes I feel a deep horror at humanity (you just have to watch the news) but I know that just about every person as an individual is a normal, likeable member of society.  So I suppose there are days when I would like to hide away, but it doesn't last.

I recorded the sheep farmer one, they've been on a few different programmes now, thought the independent woman was a bit strange, but she still relied on others a lot, missed the first part of this week's, came in as they were taking a pig for slaughter,   there are a few repeats I think, also on 'Spike' channel during the week. Looking forward to watching it all

For those who missed it and have a recorder, it's repeated on channel 5 at 3.10 Thursday (tomorrow) morning
