Title: Falconry
Post by: lord flynn on November 19, 2015, 01:50:49 pm
Anyone here do it? Ever since I saw a job advert for pest control to include your own birdof prey, I've been thinking about it. Used to see the Sheikhs in Newmarket do it from horseback. I have the horses lol!

I know I can go and do experience days etc and OH is very supportive (despite the 'no more species rule' brought in after the ducks) and there is somewhere very local. But just wondered if anyone here does it, what birds etc etc.

My postie flies a Harris hawk, she is a lovely bird and he comes round after rabbits every now and then.  However I do not get to see the nitty gritty day to day stuff he does with her.

I've done an experience day and also a 2 day course, was very very tempted to get a Harris Hawk, but it is a big commitment and I couldn't reconcile it with the rest of the livestock. Now if I owned a wood........
