Title: dry incubating call duck eggs in a incubator

hi guys
i have around 12 call duck eggs and i am wanting to hatch theam in my brinsea 40 xd
i have tryed before with water and without but never had much success any advise ??

we have 12 call duck eggs in the incbator at the moment, i won't be using water. This is the first time we have hatched call duck eggs up to now it has just be khaki campbells... only on day 6 but will let you know how we get on.

I've hatched call duck egg in an octagon 10 - I used a small bit of water throughout the process and then had to add a damp hot cloth when pipping started - I found the shells to be exceptionally tough and the ducklings found it very hard to get out and I did have to help some - the membrane dried out easily and the hot cloth seemed to produce the steam needed. you will still need humidatey off 40 to 50 percent

If you are in Scotland then I would say no water, without a doubt. This works well frome here in Fife and I have just hatched 2 goose eggs with no water (other than spraying the eggs daily).
